Celebrating Chamber Week with a FREE Speed Networking and Social Event

Where: Pomeroy Hotel

Time: 5:30 pm – Speed networking

Social to follow with cash bar, finger foods and great conversations!

Why?? Speed Networking is a perfect opportunity to meet professionals and other business people that you want to do business with, a one-on-one in a structured and timed environment.

What rules apply?  The rules of Karma: what goes around, comes around!

Core concept: elevator pitch.  Imagine yourself moving from floor 1 to 10 and meeting the person you have been wanting to talk to about your new idea/brand/firm/program.  What would you say?  Your elevator pitch should be: catchy, concise, creative, content, rich and connective!

FACT #1: If you make yourself valuable and memorable, others will want to make you part of their network.

FACT #2: The real rule of ‘give and take’ is: before you take, you gotta give.

FACT#3: Your mother taught you everything you need to know about connecting before you were 10 years old: make friends, play nice, tell the truth, take a bath, do your homework.

Rules of the game (Speed Networking)

  • Divide into 2 groups: A and B
  • A on one side of the table and B on the other
  • At ‘go’ give your 3 minute elevator pitch
  • then listen to your partner for 3 minutes
  • remember to exchange business cards
  • When the buzzer rings: Group A moves 1 seat to the right, Group B stays put.

Remember to bring at least 50 business cards!
