On July 23, 2009, the Government of British Columbia announced its plans to implement a Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), which, subject to legislative approval by the British Columbia (B.C.) legislature, would come into effect on July 1, 2010, and be administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

The CRA has developed dedicated Web pages to provide information on the proposed transition to HST for British Columbia. These Web pages can be found at:

These pages contain the most current information relating to the proposed transition to HST for British Columbia and are updated regularly as information is released.

Free information seminars are continuously being held throughout the province to give businesses information on the general transition rules for the implementation of HST.  These sessions are posted on the website and you can register for them online.
