John Turner sworn in as BC Chamber of Commerce Chair

Business leaders and Chamber of Commerce executives from communities across BC gathered in Prince George May 29 – 31st for the BC Chamber of Commerce AGM & Conference, and the election of the new BC Chamber Board of Directors.

The Fort St John & District Chamber of Commerce was in attendance to witness one of our own be sworn in as the 2011 BC Chamber of Commerce Chair.  Past Chair Mike Watson, passed the Chair position to John Turner.  Most of us know John from his active roll with Spectra Energy, but the Chamber has known John for quite some time.  He was elected to the Fort St John & District Chamber of Commerce board of directors in 1998, staying on the board until he accepted a Director at Large position in 2003, where he remained as until he accepted a Director position with the BC Chamber in 2006 and until present.  John has represented not only the Fort St John area, but the Northeast region of our province with great passion.

It is with great honor that we can announce to you the inauguration of the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce Chair for 2011 as being John Turner.

On behalf of the Fort St John & District Chamber of Commerce we would like to congratulate John Turner on his new role as the BC Chamber of Commerce Chair.  We are confident that he will serve the BC Chamber well, and continue to do an incredible job at representing the Northeast.
