“Riding the Wave: Updates to Government Programs in response to COVID”

MNP LLP will be covering the updates to the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy (“CEWS”), the new Canadian Emergency Rental Subsidy (“CERS”) and will touch on the updated Canadian Emergency Business Account (“CEBA”). Also covered will be the filing requirements this year for T4s.  This session is ideal for business owners, those responsible for Not-for profits, and those involved with payroll.


Tracy Leishman, CPA, CA, BSc. (Ag. Eng.), is a Partner with MNP’s Taxation Services team in Grande Prairie. Specializing in Canadian taxation services, Tracy works with family-owned and managed businesses in a variety of industries, including agriculture, oilfield services, professionals, forestry services and retail.

A skilled listener, Tracy develops an in-depth understanding of her clients’ goals and challenges that allows her to create customized solutions that help them succeed. Tracy has more than 18 years of experience working with entrepreneurs in the areas of personal and corporate tax planning, corporate reorganization and estate and succession planning.

Having grown up on a family farm, Tracy knows the importance of farm business structure planning and strives to help clients select a structure that will allow them to achieve their goals. She also understands the intricacies of developing a plan for transferring farm assets to the next generation and is adept at guiding her clients through the process in a timely manner.

Tracy was designated a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2001. Prior to that, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Alberta.


Scott Wisdahl CPA, CGA LL.M is a growth and profitability advisor, working with businesses and their owners to improve how the business can let them meet their personal needs. He uses his more than twenty years of experience and his training to assist business owners to set goals for their business and move forward. The questions he will want to address are:

Is your business as profitable as you want? Is it growing as you want? Is it support your personal needs?

As part of his advisory role, Scott assists organizations move to cloud-based accounting and find ways to transforms real-time financial information into real-world business insights. Scott has completed training in cloud accounting platforms. Scott leads the Peace Region’s cloud practice, known as Ease.

Scott is a Partner in the Fort St. John and also serves the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. He has worked with clients in many industries including oil field services and forestry. He has assisted clients with start-up, tax minimization, estate planning, and buying and selling businesses.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Victoria. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA), qualifying in 1996. Scott graduated from the University of Cumbria in England with a Master of Laws degree in International Business (LL.M) in 2018.
