Lake View Credit Union’s history of member service began in the years after the great depression. Born in Dawson Creek on August 1943 with 12 members and $6, in September 1944, the credit union had 141 members and a share capital of $25,820. LVCU had the distinction of being one of the fastest growing credit unions in British Columbia, and today we proudly service over 10,500 members with assets over $310 million.
In 1974, LVCU expanded its services by opening a branch in Chetwynd, B.C., and in 2001 it became the only financial institution in Tumbler Ridge, B.C. Today, Lake View Credit Union continues to serve our members, led by the vision and direction of our Board of Directors.

Lakepoint Golf and Country Club is located on the shores of Charlie Lake, minutes from Fort St. John. We were established in 1958 as a 9-hole golf course and have evolved throughout the years into Northern BC’s Best. In 1974 we hired Norman Woods to design our second nine, and redesign the existing one. He has left a very fun and memorable tree lined layout, in a beautiful setting with great views.
Lakepoint also offers many amenities, including a full-service restaurant and lounge, fully stocked pro shop, campground, driving range, and putting green. Our restaurant boasts home cooking, two patios to enjoy the views, and daily specials. Our pro shop employs Professional Staff who are here to help with all your golfing needs. We sell high quality golf clubs, clothing, and accessories at very competitive prices.

Our Pro Shop offers the latest in golf merchandise and services, as well as custom fittings, demo clubs, regripping and repair services. We also do special orders, anything golf, any brand, we can order it for you!

LaPrairie Crane is strategically located throughout Western Canada with physical locations in Fort St John, Fort Nelson, Tumbler Ridge, Fort McMurray, Fox Creek and Grimshaw, along with satellite facilities in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Our fleet has load capabilities ranging from 8 to 650 tons, including carry decks, picker trucks, all-terrain cranes, rough-terrain cranes, truck-mounted cranes, both conventional and hydraulic crawler cranes and heavy-lift tower cranes.
